Es beginnt nicht nur das neue Semester, sondern auch eine neue Funktionsperiode: Alle zwei Jahre wird ein neues Dekane-Team bestellt, um die Fakultät zu leiten.
Mit 1. Oktober 2022 wurde Karl Franz Dörner, Professor für Produktion und Logistik, als Dekan der Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften bestellt und übernimmt die Agenden von Gerhard Sorger. Er nimmt erstmals eine Doppelfunktion als Vize-Dekan für Lehre ein. Als Dekan leitet er die Fakultät und bildet zusammen mit den Vize-Dekan*innen und dem Fakultätsmanager Kurt Kinast die Fakultätsleitung.
Die Agenden für Forschung übernimmt Vize-Dekanin Tatyana Krivobokova, Professorin für Statistik mit Anwendungen insb. in den Wirtschaftswissenschaften, von Hannes Leeb.
Das erstmalig an der Universität Wien eingeführte Ressort Third Mission übernimmt Jan Fabian Ehmke, Professor für Business Analytics. Es umfasst alle nach außen gerichteten Aktivitäten der Fakultät, wie z.B. die Veranstaltungsreihe Wissenschaft & Praxis und die Alumni-Agenden.
Ebenso ist die Studienprogrammleitung ab 1. Oktober 2022 neu: Oliver Fabel, Professor für Personalwirtschaft, betreut mit seinem Team die Bachelor- und Masterstudiengänge. Thomas Gehrig, Professor für Finanzwirtschaft, widmet sich den PhD- und Doktoratsstudiengängen.

As of 1 October 2022, Karl Franz Dörner, Professor of Production and Logistics, has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, taking over from Gerhard Sorger, Professor of Economics. For the first time, he is taking on a double function as Vice-Dean for Teaching. Together with the Vice Deans and faculty manager Kurt Kinast, he will lead the Faculty until 2024.
Vice Dean Tatyana Krivobokova, Professor of Statistics with Economic Applications, takes over the research agenda from Hannes Leeb.
Jan Fabian Ehmke, Professor of Business Analytics, will take over the Third Mission department, which was introduced for the first time at the University of Vienna. It includes all outward-looking activities of the faculty, such as the event series Wissenschaft & Praxis and the alumni agenda.
Likewise, the directorate of studies has changed as of 1 October 2022: Oliver Fabel, Professor of Human Resources Management, will oversee the Bachelor's and Master's programmes with his team. Thomas Gehrig, Professor of Finance, is dedicated to the PhD and doctoral programmes.
