Das Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) ist das Elite-Journal der Academy of International Business, der führenden Gesellschaft von Wissenschafter*innen und Expert*innen in diesem Forschungsfeld. Der JIBS Decade Award wurde 1996 ins Leben gerufen, um den einflussreichsten Artikel auszuzeichnen, der zehn Jahre zuvor im Journal of International Business Studies veröffentlicht wurde. Die Artikel werden jeweils von einem Auswahl-Komitee bewertet und der Award gilt als höchste Anerkennung für eine Publikation im Bereich International Business.

Die Preisverleihung erfolgt bei der AIB Conference 2021 in Miami.
„Ich fühle mich sehr geehrt, den JIBS Decade Award zu erhalten. Als meine Co-Autorinnen und ich diese Arbeit entwickelten, ahnten wir nicht, welche Wirkung sie entfalten würde. Unser Ziel war es, den Beitrag der qualitativen Forschung zur Theoretisierung der internationalen Wirtschaft zu ermitteln. Wir freuen uns, dass unser Artikel von der akademischen Gemeinschaft angenommen wird, eine hohe Anzahl von Zitationen erhält und den Weg für Veränderungen im methodologischen Bereich des International Business ebnet“, sagt Emmanuella Playokiannaki zum JIBS Decade Award.
