The Workshop is organised in cooperation between the University of Vienna, Deutsche Bundesbank, and the University of Augsburg. The organising committee is composed by Prof. Dr. T. Gehrig (Univ. Wien), Dr. T. Pausch (Deutsche Bundesbank) and Prof. Dr. P. Welzel (Univ. Augsburg).

The target group of this Workshop is young economists interested in research in banking and financial

markets. The main aim is to provide them with a platform to exchange ideas, discuss recent contributions, start future research collaborations.

The speakers were selected among young academics (Ph.D. students and postdocs) who work on theoretical or theoretically-founded empirical research on banks and financial markets. 

The Workshop focuses on recent contributions in the area of banking and financial markets. Papers that examine competition between financial intermediaries, risk taking of individual banks, stability of the financial sector and its regulation are of particular interest. The programme will have a particular core on theoretical or theoretically-founded empirical research.
