Mit Semesterbeginn treten zwei neue Professor*innen in den Dienst der Fakultät. In dieser Serie stellen wir Daniela Hohenwarter-Mayr und Hans-Ulrich Küpper vor.

Wir freuen uns bekanntzugeben, dass Prof. Daniela Hohenwarter-Mayr seit Oktober 2020 Professorin für Steuerrecht am Institut für Recht der Wirtschaft ist.
Daniela Hohenwarter-Mayr war Gastprofessorin für Internationales und Europäisches Steuerrecht an der Universität St. Gallen (Schweiz) und bereits im Studienjahr 2019/20 als Lehrbeauftragte am Institut für Recht der Wirtschaft tätig, wo sie die Lehragenden von Univ.-Prof. i.R. DDr. Eduard Lechner übernahm.
Von 2011 bis 2018 war Hohenwarter-Mayr Herta-Firnberg-Postdoc Research Associate und zuvor Postdoc Research Associate am Institut für Österreichisches und Internationales Steuerrecht an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien.
Die Niederösterreicherin promovierte 2009 zur Doktorin der Rechtswissenschaften an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, im Jahr 2019 folgte ihre Habilitation für das Fach „Finanz- und Steuerrecht“. Für ihre Dissertation zu „Verlustverwertung im Konzern“ wurde sie mehrfach ausgezeichnet, u.a. mit dem European Academic Tax Thesis Award der European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP), dem Mitchell B. Carroll Prize der International Fiscal Association und dem Wolfgang Gassner Wissenschaftspreis (IFA Landesgruppe Österreich). Ihre Habilitationsschrift hat sie zur „Rechtsnachfolge im Unternehmenssteuerrecht“ verfasst.
Schon während ihres Studiums wurde Hohenwarter-Mayr mit dem Tax Executives Institute European Chapter Award ausgezeichnet und qualifizierte sich für mehrere Stipendien.
Prof. Hohenwarter-Mayr ist Mitglied in der International Fiscal Association (IFA) und u.a. WIN-Vertreterin für Österreich (Woman of IFA Network). Weiters ist sie Mitglied der Deutschen Steuerjuristischen Gesellschaft (DStJG) und verfasste zahlreiche Publikationen.
Im Wintersemester 2020/21 wird Prof. Hohenwarter-Mayr Lehrveranstaltungen zu Steuerrecht, Internationales Steuerrecht und Wirtschaftsrecht leiten. Zudem ist sie Leiterin von u:tax, der Abteilung für Steuerrecht des Instituts für Recht der Wirtschaft.

Welcome to the Faculty, Prof. Daniela Hohenwarter-Mayr!
We are pleased to announce that Prof. Daniela Hohenwarter-Mayr has been Professor of Tax Law at the Department of Business Law since October 2020.
Daniela Hohenwarter-Mayr was Visiting Professor for International and European Tax Law at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) and already in the academic year 2019/20 she was lecturer at the Institute of Business Law, where she took over the lectureship from Univ.-Prof. i.R. DDr. Eduard Lechner
From 2011 to 2018 Hohenwarter-Mayr was Herta-Firnberg-Postdoc Research Associate and previously Postdoc Research Associate at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
Hohenwarter-Mayr obtained her doctorate in law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in 2009, followed by her habilitation in "Finanz- und Steuerrecht" in 2019. For her dissertation on "Verlustverwertung im Konzern" she received several awards, including the European Academic Tax Thesis Award of the European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP), the Mitchell B. Carroll Prize of the International Fiscal Association and the Wolfgang Gassner Wissenschaftspreis (IFA Landesgruppe Österreich). Prof. Hohenwarter-Mayr is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and, among other things, WIN representative for Austria (Woman of IFA Network). She is also a member of the German Tax Law Society (DStJG) and has written numerous publications.
In the winter semester 2020/21, Prof. Hohenwarter-Mayr will teach courses on tax law, international tax law and commercial law. In addition, she is head of u:tax, the department for tax law at the Institute for Economic Law.
