On 9 October 2025, the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics at the University of Vienna will award the 7th Oskar Morgenstern Medal to Prof. Phanish Puranam (INSEAD), one of the world's leading experts in organizational design and strategy.
The Oskar Morgenstern Medal is the Faculty's highest distinction, honoring scholars whose work has made outstanding contributions to economics and related fields. The Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics honors Prof. Phanish Puranam for his pioneering contributions to organization science. His work combines analytical rigor with real-world impact, shaping how we understand and design organizations in an increasingly complex, interconnected, and technology-driven world. In particular, Prof. Puranam’s research explores how decision-making architectures can be improved and how artificial intelligence can be integrated into organizations in a way that fosters collaboration, innovation, and human-centeredness.
