[English version below]

Sie ist Associate Editor von „Journal of the American Statistical Association” und „Scandinavian Journal of Statistics” und Elected Member of the European Regional Committee of the Bernoulli Society.

Welcome to the faculty, professor Krivobokova!

We are happy to announce that Univ.-Prof. Dr. Tatyana Krivobokova has joined our faculty, starting April 1, 2020, as professor for Statistics with Applications in Economics. She is associated with the Department of Statistics and Operations Research

Professor Krivobokova’s research interests lie in Bayesian Nonparametric Statistics and Modeling of Dependent and High-Dimensional Data (theoretical, methodical and applied).

Tatyana Krivobokova has been Professor (W2) at the Georg-August-University Göttingen, Institute of Mathematical Stochastics, since 2010. Previously she was Junior Professor at the Courant Research Center "Poverty, Equity and Growth in Developing and Transition Countries" at the Georg-Augustin-University Göttingen as well as Research Assistant at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, (Belgium), at the University of Bielefeld and at the Fraunhofer IESE in Kaiserslautern.

She studied Applied Mathematics at Kazakh State National University in Almaty (Kazakhstan), completed her master's degree in “Science in Financial Mathematics” at Kaiserslautern University and received her PhD in Statistics with a dissertation on “Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Penalized Spline Smoothing” at the University of Bielefeld.

Prof. Krivobokova undertook research stays to Cambridge, Beijing and Poitiers. She serves as Associate Editor of “Journal of the American Statistical Association” and “Scandinavian Journal of Statistics” as well as Elected Member of the European Regional Committee of the Bernoulli Society. Since 2018 Prof. Krivobokova was Acting Director of the Institute for Mathematical Stochastics at the Georg-Augustin-University Göttingen. Moreover, she supervises PhD-Theses, bachelor’s and master’s theses.

In the ongoing summer term professor Krivobokova teaches the courses “Linear Multivariate Statistics” and “Generalized Linear Model” – due to the current emergency operation presumably online.

We wish professor Krivobokova – despite the difficult circumstances – a good start at our faculty and give her a warm welcome!
