Welcome Day – Welcome to the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics

At the start of the academic year, we cordially invite all new students to Welcome Day. 

Welcome Day, which will take place on 30 September 2026 in the main building of the University of Vienna, offers first-year students at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics an informative and personal introduction to their studies. In addition to an overview of the structure of the programme and key contacts throughout your studies, the focus will be on exchange, making initial contacts and arriving together.

What to expect

• The Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics, Bernhard Kittel, and the Vice-Dean for Teaching, Michaela Schaffhauser-Linzatti, will welcome you together with the study programme directors Daniel Garcia and Werner Schachinger. Class of Excellence certificate award ceremony.
• Information: We will introduce you to the faculty and your contact persons (Study Service Centre and student representatives) for various topics throughout your studies. It's worth coming by!
• Networking: Make your first contacts and get to know your fellow students and professors in a relaxed atmosphere.
